Concern For Youth is a non-profit community based organization that works with all youth and their families in the Battlefords.
Our mission is to use a proactive approach to assist youth in making responsible decisions, to identify the needs of youth, to act as a liasion between youth and community programming, and to raise the profile of youth issues in the community.
The primary objective of outreach workers is to locate, interact, and connect with youth at risk and their families and make referrals to social and community agencies that can provide them with programs and services.
Outreach workers also do home and school visits, provide personal and family support, attend any appointments with youth, assist with forms, recreational services, act as a positive role model, act as a liasion and mediator, ensure youth are safe, empowers youth to make safe, positive, healthy and responsible decisions, listens to youth express their needs and acts as a spokesperson to identify gaps in services, is non-judgemental and respectful to youth, and helps to locate missing youth.
Outreach workers can be found on the street, in the outreach van, at schools, at organizations such as the Mix, Boys & Girls club, and the Friendship Center, at the office (Alex Dillabough), or anywhere youth hang out. |
