North Battleford is the cradle of the Western Development Museum in Saskatchewan.  It was here in 1947 that a grassroots movement began, to save prairie pioneer farm machinery and household objects.

The North Battleford Heritage Farm and Village Western Development Museum tells the story of Saskachewan agriculture and rural life.  On 100 acres, this outdoor site features a village with over 30 homes and businesses representing the boom years of the 1920's.  A farmstead at the edge of the village provides exciting opportunities to plant and harvest crops and to raise farm animals using the tools and techniques of the 1920 Saskatchewan farm family.  There is a picnic site outdoors, with the campground nearby.
